Denis started his career in the yachting industry back in 1977. Originally from Croatia, he is now an Italian citizen.
He started as a deckhand, and he grew-up his way to becoming Captain. Holding diplomas as an electro-technician and as a Captain (Master 3000GT), MCA fully endorsed, Denis, has excellent experience in the industry.
Also, Denis has vast language skills and speaks fluently six languages: English, Italian, Spanish, Serbian and Croatian fluently, acceptable Russian (written and spoken), and some French.
His first captain position was back in 2006 onboard M/Y Five Stars (an old Benetti built-in 1971). Then, he’s been Captain onboard various other vessels, both charter and private; acquiring excellent experience in both, vessel handling and human relations.
Some of his previous experience on charter vessels includes 50m M/Y BEATRIX, 48m M/Y ALEXANDAR V, 45m M/Y BLADE, 37m ANDIAMO, and other. Denis has also been Captain on private vessels, like 46m M/Y Starling, 45m M/Y S. Bernardo, and 40m M/Y Lady Lucy
Throughout the years, Denis navigated the whole Mediterranean Sea, and also cruised in Russia, the Pacific Ocean, and did Atlantic crossings.
Denis comes highly referenced. A Management director said about him: « Denis is a very loyal and a good charter Captain. A bit old school, which I like, as he puts the guests first. A very good choice. »
He has a curious personality and likes to study contemporary history, oriental philosophy, and he dedicates his free time, to one of his passion: biological agriculture.
Denis joins DEEP BLUE II in the 2020 season. His experience, background skills and personality fit perfect DEEP BLUE II. All the DEEP BLUE II is pleased to have him onboard commanding this great charter vessel!
