Monaco
Start a South of France trip in style. Entertainment opportunities abound with bucket list events such as Formula 1’s Grand Prix and Monte Carlo’s famous casino. DAY 2
Saint-jean-cap-ferrat
The beach resort town of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a legendary headland in the French Riviera. One of the best ways to explore this stunning landscape is on foot thanks to the 14-kilometer (8.7 mile) path around the peninsula, said to be the world’s most beautiful coastal walk. Able to be taken in shorter sections, this walk weaves past the peninsula’s five breathtaking public beaches, with gorgeous views in every direction. Visit the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild for a lesson in both opulent Belle Époque architecture and scandalous history. The villa’s extensive gardens provide a respite of tranquillity.

DAY 3
Nice
After a few days at sea, enjoy a city break in Nice. Outside of Paris, Nice is France’s most popular destination and it’s easy to see why. This hotspot is a bustling destination with museums, restaurants and colourful architecture. A well-preserved Old Town gives Nice a special flavour, with cobblestone streets winding towards Cours Saleya, perhaps the best market in France. Nestled between two bays, Nice’s rocky shore along the Mediterranean is best-suited for strolling, and the Promenade des Anglais boardwalk is the perfect place to do so.

DAY 4
Antibes
The ancient city of Antibes is an alluring blend of old-town charm and modern-day yachting culture. Dating back to the 10th century, the crumbling walls from historical Greek and Roman forts give Antibes a completely unique feel in the Riviera. Wander through the well-preserved Old Town to Antibes’s traditional covered market, the Marché Provençal. Explore Cap d’Antibes for a respite in the forest before admiring the yachts in Port Vauban, Europe’s largest marina. While in Antibes, the Picasso Museum is a must-see destination.

DAY 5
Lerins Islands
Get away from it all in the quiet Lérins islands. This Archipelago of four islands (two uninhabited) makes a great midway point to rest and recharge in nature. Saint Margaret is the largest island, blanketed by a pleasant forest of eucalyptus trees that relax the senses. A nature reserve is a favourite among bird-watchers thanks to prepared look-out points. History lovers will enjoy touring Fort Royal, infamous as the prison of the Man in the Iron Mask. The smaller island Saint Honorat is home to a nearly 1000-year-old Cistercian abbey that produces wine and olive oil.

DAY 6
Cannes
One of the highlights of any South of France itinerary is a day in Cannes. Come May, stars and A-listers descend upon this glittering seaside town for the Cannes Film Festival but that’s not all this storied city has to offer. Each street seems to embody a different vibe, from the famed Croisette district with its high-end shopping to the majestic viewpoints of the historical Suquet and onto the convivial Old Port with its strong maritime history. Or simply sit with a glass of wine at a sidewalk cafe and enjoy the ambiance of one of the French Riviera’s gems.

Fréjus
Fréjus can’t be beat for its plethora of beaches, including the family-friendly and disabled-accessible shallow waters of Base Nature François Léotard. Aside from its beautiful white sandy beaches, Fréjus is ripe for cultural discovery with 1st-century ruins from an ancient naval base overseen by Julius Caesar. The chic neighbouring town of Saint Raphaël offers a unique old town experience, directly on the beach, with plenty of eateries serving local wines and other delicacies. Speaking of wine, a day trip to one of Frejus’s many vineyards offers a memorable experience in a beautiful setting.

DAY 8
Pampelone Bay & St Tropez
St Tropez shines bright, even by Riviera standards. Originally beloved by painters for its special light, today it is a haven of glamour and sophistication, with plenty to do for a day of luxury. Start off with world-class shopping before grabbing lunch at the legendary Club 55- open daytime only. No trip to St Tropez is complete without a stop at Pampelonne Bay. The nearly 5 kilometre (3 mile) long white sandy beach has been immortalized in classic film. It’s a fantastic place to try out a variety of water sports before enjoying a memorable sunset.

DAY 9
Le du Levant, Port Cros & îles de Porquerolles
Known as the Islands of Gold, these protected isles have maintained their naturally wild feeling through National Park designation. Small and with their own character, they are well-suited for a day of island hopping. Adventure seekers will adore the dive spots and steep cliff hiking in Port-Cros, while the diversity of flora and fauna will delight all ages. Porquerolles is home to interesting military monuments as well as relaxing beaches, particularly the tree-lined Plage Notre Dame, one of France’s top-rated beaches. Those wishing to get a bit cheeky will be able to let loose at the naturist beaches of Levant.

DAY 10
Hyères
Finish a South of France dream vacation with a stroll through charming Hyères. Colourful buildings and enticing markets that characterize the entire Provence region are on display in the old town. Hike along the rocky coastal path of the Giens peninsula that will provide breathtaking final views of this incredibly special part of the world. Along the path, one can find hidden coves and secluded beaches to enjoy some private, final memories before returning to port.
