DESTINATIONS - TRIP TO

Caribbean

The Caribbean is the quintessential tropical paradise blessed with pristine white-sand beaches, impossibly blue water and a laid-back vibe that seeps into the soul. There are around 30 Caribbean states, each with its own rhythm, personality and way of life which makes island hopping on a luxury yacht a great way to immerse yourself into many different Caribbean cultures. With year-round warm temperatures, ideal sailing conditions and infinite activities to suit any age or interest, there’s no reason not to step aboard for what is sure to be the trip of a lifetime.

DAY 1
ANTIGUA
Antigua has a beach for every day of the year, so you are guaranteed to find one you love. But in the (unlikely) event that you want a break from the beach, Antigua has a rich history that can be explored in one of the island’s museums. Two harbours, the English Harbour and Jolly Harbour, are vibrant areas with bars, restaurants and golf clubs. A highlight of any trip to the Caribbean is the weekly sunset party at Shirley Heights, for a truly incredible introduction to the island lifestyle complete with BBQ for everyone and dancing to a steel band.

DAY 2
BARBUDA
Antigua’s sister island, Barbuda, is a quieter experience from the rollicking party of Antigua. Today will be all about peace and relaxation. Instead of resorts, this barely developed island offers pristine beaches without the crowds. Choose between the (misnamed) 11 Mile Beach or the jaw-dropping Pink Sand Beach — most stunning after the tide has come in. Barbuda is also celebrated for its wildlife spotting opportunities. While the island has 170 species of bird, as home to the western hemisphere’s largest colony of frigate birds, they inevitably steal the show.

DAY 3
NEVIS & ST. KITTS
Another duo of islands, Nevis & St. Kitts are an unspoilt treasure in the Caribbean, built upon volcanos and a lush rainforest. Unlike some better-known Caribbean destinations, these islands provide seclusion and solitude without sacrificing any of the natural beauty that the region is famed for. No wonder they are nicknamed ‘the Secret Caribbean.’ You might want to keep them secret too after you’ve been here to preserve the calm, clear water that laps over coral and the carefully protected ecosystem.

DAY 4
ST. BARTHS
Is it possible to get the best of both worlds when lusting after the luxury of the French Riviera while desiring the relaxation of the Caribbean? Yes! A day in St. Barth’s combines the cherished heritage of each for a truly spectacular experience. Eden Rock’s home island retains its French influence through excellent dining, fine wines, and fashion, with the stunning tropical backdrop of the Caribbean. There are several beautiful beaches on the island to choose from but St. Jean Beach — our personal favourite — is naturally the most popular.

DAY 5
ANGUILLA
Anguilla is a laid-back island with an authentic charm and easy-going vibe. After anchoring in Maundays Bay, it doesn’t take long to settle into the pace of this English island. First, head to Rendezvous Bay, the star of Anguilla’s beaches. With a long stretch of powder-white sand, it is the epitome of Caribbean beach beauty. Calm waters are a great canvas for a variety of water sports and snorkelling. The beaches are the main draw of Anguilla, but its award-winning restaurants are a close second.

DAY 6
ST. MARTEEN
St. Maarten, a single landmass split between France and the Netherlands, is a rich tapestry of cultures, languages and experiences. Both sides have fantastic white sand beaches to enjoy. Collectively, the islanders are lovingly known as ‘The Friendly People’. For food and friendliness, the island just can’t be beat. The influence of so many cultures has benefited its culinary scene, resulting in the island being named the ‘Gastronomic Capital of the Caribbean’. After your final Caribbean meal at a world-class restaurant, make sure to partake in the joyous open-air nightlife with the ocean breeze kissing you farewell.
