Make port in Dead Man’s Bay for a restful day on privately-owned Peter Island, dominated by a world-class spa and resort. A half mile north-east (800 meters) you’ll find Dead Chest Island- the fascinating site where Blackbeard is reported to have abandoned his crew with only a bottle of rum. Nowadays it is an uninhabited national park, perfect for swimming and snorkelling at one of three dive sites for all levels. Look out for the sea turtles who swim in these clear waters. Offshore, deep-sea fishing is a popular activity, especially at the North Drop where the record-breaking blue marlin was caught.
